Complementary Therapies - How Complementary and Conventional Medicine can Work Together for Better Health

19 Jun 2025
The Gielgud

Dr Naveed Akhtar chairs the Integrated Medicine Alliance which is a group conceived by the College of Medicine with the purpose of encouraging and optimising the best use of complementary therapies alongside conventional healthcare for the benefit of all. As healthcare evolves, the need for a more cohesive approach that combines the best of both worlds has never been greater.

At the Integrative & Personalised Medicine Congress 2025, we are bringing together the leads of the main UK Complementary organisations to discuss the challenges and opportunities in integrating complementary therapies into mainstream healthcare. The conversation will explore evidence-based approaches, patient-centred care models, and the development of treatment strategies that blend conventional medicine with complementary practices. With growing patient demand and increasing clinical evidence supporting integrative approaches, this discussion is more relevant than ever.
