Viv is a researcher, educator, and herbalist with a PhD in gut physiology and a lifelong passion for the healing potential of plants. She brings together scientific rigor and traditional herbal knowledge to deepen understanding of how herbs can support health and wellbeing.

Formerly Head of Herbal Research at Pukka Herbs, Viv led an ambitious research programme, establishing over 30 university partnerships to investigate the effects of herbs on areas including sleep, cognition, muscle function, and the gut microbiome. In 2023, she founded Curiosity Research Ltd to pursue independent herbal research, and alongside this she writes and teaches.

Viv is also co-director of the master’s-level Diploma in Integrative Healthcare at the National Centre for Integrative Medicine, where she supports the next generation of integrative practitioners. She also co-founded the Cotswold Herb Centre to share her love of herbs through walks, workshops, and community activities in Gloucestershire.
