Roop Mann
A dentist with a special interest in TMD (Temporomandibular Dysfunction). She qualified from Manchester Dental School in 1995 and went on to undertake further training in occlusion ( the bite) and TMJ disorders with a number of institutions . It was when she trained with the American academy that her passion with ‘ Intergrative Dentistry ‘ was ignited.
She went on to gain a Diploma with the British Dental Acupuncture Society and have successfully incorporated this in her work with the management of pain associated with TMD ( Temporomandibular Dysfunction) particularly in relation to the trigger point referral pattern from the muscles of mastication ( MOM) . The common denominator with the vast majority of her patients is stress which has caused them to clench and grind their teeth in their sleep. This parafunction overworks the Temporalis and Masseter which results in intense chronic tension headaches. Often these patients have seen a number of medical colleagues and even neurologists but to no avail and have learned to live in discomfort.
Her protocol encompasses an integrative patient centred approach where the science meets the art. The main objective being to restore harmony and optimise function . She has learned to incorporate traditional dentistry with innovative techniques backed by modern science. Promoting ventral Vagal flow plays a key role in her management.
