Osama (Os) Ammar is Head of Accreditation for the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) where he leads a government-backed statutory programme to uphold public protection through oversight of health and social care practitioner registers. The programme now covers 29 organisations registering over 120,000 people delivering care in the health services and independent sector.

Prior to joining the PSA, Os led regulatory functions and strategic change programmes at regulatory bodies for dentistry, pharmacy, allied health, and nursing and midwifery. ranging from education and, policy, research, strategy, and complaints handling.

Os has a special interest in engagement and collaborative working to support public and practitioner wellbeing through culture change, strategy and evaluation.
