Michael Ash
Mike Ash is the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Strategy Officer of FunctionalMind™, an AI-powered clinical platform purpose-built for practitioners in functional, integrative, and longevity medicine. Acting as an intelligent clinical support partner, FunctionalMind transforms lab interpretation, research retrieval, and personalised care planning into real-time, evidence-informed outputs, enhancing practitioner insight while significantly reducing time burden. Designed by clinicians for clinicians, the platform is rapidly establishing itself as a next-generation decision support system, redefining how complex, whole-person root cause care is delivered.
At the IPM Conference, Mike will demonstrate real-world use cases and share how FunctionalMind can be embedded into clinical workflows to amplify clinical reasoning, improve patient outcomes, and restore time for meaningful patient connection. If you're exploring how AI can support—not replace—your clinical judgement, this is the session to attend.
With a career spanning over 40 years, Mike brings deep experience in clinical practice, postgraduate education, and healthcare innovation. He trained in Osteopathy, Naturopathy, and Nutritional Therapy in London, following earlier undergraduate studies in business, politics, law, and economics. Since 2004, he has pursued advanced training in immunology, with a focus on mucosal immunity and systems biology.
Mike founded and led one of the UK’s largest integrative medicine clinics, personally managing over 10,000 patients. Functional medicine was embedded in the clinic’s workflow from the early 1990s, shaping his approach to complex chronic care well before it gained wider adoption in Europe.
He is also Managing Director of Nutri-Link Ltd, a practitioner supplement and education company acquired in 2023 by WM Partners (Miami, USA), and continues to be involved in its strategic growth.
As the Founder of Clinical Education, a not-for-profit organisation, Mike continues to support healthcare professionals by translating emerging science into clinically applicable insights. He also serves as faculty for the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) in the United States, contributing to its global education initiatives.
