Innes is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the association from day to day as well as exploring and investigating new technology, partnerships, services and products that will move the association forward and benefit members.

With over 30 years senior management experience in the Health & Fitness Industry, his roles included Group Leisure Operations Manager De Vere Hotels, Operations and Marketing Director for Fitness First, Operations Director for Energie Fitness Franchise and Managing Director of Energie Fitness Ireland.

During his time at Fitness First, Innes directed all operations and marketing activities during a period of accelerated growth, opening 30 new sites each year for three consecutive years, establishing the group as the largest private fitness club operator in the UK and Europe.

Whilst at Energie Fitness, Innes created and implemented a unique member referral incentive that had a positive impact on member acquisition and member retention and is still in place today.

Innes also has relevant experience in the not-for-profit sector having served as Executive Director of the Fitness Industry Association (now UK Active), the trade association for the UK fitness industry, where he was instrumental in growing membership, building awareness with Government and driving professionalism in the sector.

Besides his experience as a senior leader in large organisations, Innes also has experience as a self-employed consultant and on-line retailer and as Operations Director for Nordic Walking UK, Innes utilised this experience to support and coach independent licensed instructors in business development, sales and marketing.

Innes now applies his experience in operations, marketing and leadership to growing the association’s business and to supporting members to develop and grow their own business.
