Ian Boyd
Ian Boyd is Chief Executive of Mind Over Mountains, a national charity delivering therapeutic outdoor experiences that combine guided walking, mindfulness and professional coaching and counselling in nature.
Originally trained and qualified as a professional youth worker in 2005, Ian has spent his career working at the intersection of community development, mental health and social change. He has led organisations through growth, funding challenges and strategic transition, with a strong focus on values based leadership, collaboration and long term sustainability.
At Mind Over Mountains, Ian is currently leading a three year growth strategy to expand access to nature based wellbeing support across the UK, working closely with NHS partners, corporate supporters and community organisations. Under his leadership, the charity continues to strengthen its evidence base, scale its impact and champion the role of green social prescribing in addressing the mental health crisis.
Ian is also a committed runner and outdoor advocate, often drawing parallels between endurance sport and leadership. He believes strongly in building resilient teams, communicating with clarity, and focusing on the objective while empowering others to thrive.
He lives in Leicestershire with his family and can usually be found on a trail, in a forest, or talking about the power of physical activity and nature to reconnect people with themselves and each other.
