Hamaad Khan
Hamaad Khan is a graduate medical student, currently working as Global Development Officer for the National Academy for Social Prescribing. He studied Neuroscience at King’s College London for his undergraduate degree, and then went on to complete his MSc in Global Health and Development at University College London just before starting medical school.
Hamaad is keenly interested in developing global health systems with a vision of health promotion and disease prevention. He has authored the first global report on social prescribing in collaboration with the WHO, detailing advancements in the health policy across 24 different countries. He co-leads the Global Social Prescribing Student Council, collaborating with student leaders around the world to advance social prescribing teaching across health curricula.
In 2022, Hamaad was the youngest awardee for the Hillary International Award for Health & Care Leadership in recognition of his advocacy in tackling overprescribing with medical education. In 2023, Hamaad was made a Patient Revolution Fellow and was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine’s Doubleday Essay Prize exploring the clinical gaze and patient-centred care.
