
Dr Emma Richardson
Dr Emma Richardson is a Partner at College Surgery in Devon. Before becoming a GP she completed a PhD in neuroendocrinology and obesity at Imperial College London, in one of the world's leading obesity research laboratories, under the mentorship of Professor Sir Steve Bloom. With a strong interest in lifestyle medicine, Emma is dedicated to promoting sustainable health and wellbeing.
She is particularly passionate about sports and exercise, enjoying activities such as cycling, swimming, yoga and running. She is currently training to become a qualified yoga instructor.
In 2024, Emma led an interdisciplinary pilot study in partnership with the UKIHCA, guiding 40 participants living with obesity through a 12-week health transformation. The program combined community events, tailored diet and exercise advice, and personalised health coaching to support sustainable lifestyle changes.
