Ellen Bennett
Ellen Bennett is the Liberate Operations Manager at the Public Health Collaboration (www.phcuk.org), where she leads educational courses for individuals self-reporting food addiction and oversees Liberate’s various programs. Her work includes educating healthcare professionals on identifying, managing, and referring patients with food addiction, as well as delivering guest lectures at universities and organizations across the UK. As a seasoned Registered Dietitian, Ellen has extensive NHS experience throughout the Midlands, specializing in obesity, disordered eating, and addictions. She also works part-time at Coventry University in the Centre of Intelligent Healthcare, where her research in Behavioural Sciences focuses on Liberate and is a part of her PhD. Ellen is also passionate about the potential of 12-step programs, particularly Overeaters Anonymous, and is committed to enhancing the research evidence supporting these approaches. Her dedication is deeply rooted in her personal experience: after struggling with traditional diets, Ellen discovered she had ultra processed-food addiction. By adopting a real food, low-carb lifestyle, she has successfully maintained an 11-stone weight loss for over a decade and a mind free of food obsession.
