David is the author of 12 books, including The Joy of Actually Giving a F*ck, and the founder of the 21-Day Kindfulness Experiment—a global initiative exploring how kindness and mindfulness together can enhance wellbeing.
Widely regarded as one of the world’s leading voices on the science of kindness, David speaks and writes about how compassion and kindness influence mental and physical health, supports emotional resilience, and transforms both lives and workplaces. His work blends insights from neuroscience, psychology, and integrative medicine, with a deep understanding of the mind-body connection.
He began his career in pharmaceutical R&D, contributing to the development of treatments for cardiovascular disease and cancer, before transitioning into leadership roles and ultimately following his passion for writing, teaching, and public speaking.
Today, he is a sought-after speaker, columnist, and regular podcast guest, with appearances on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch, CBS Sunday Morning, and numerous BBC radio programmes. He has delivered keynotes and workshops for a wide range of organisations including Google, the Bank of England, 3M, HSBC, NHS, Diageo, Network Rail, AstraZeneca, and many others.
