Dr Carolina Crispino

MD, MPH, Functional and Integrative Physician, Uruguay

Dr Carolina Crispino, MD, MPH is a functional and integrative physician based in Montevideo, Uruguay, who helps patients restore health through circadian-aligned care, metabolic nutrition, and evidence-based lifestyle medicine. Her clinical focus includes metabolic disorders (obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes), cardiovascular risk, stress regulation, sleep optimization, hormonal balance, gut–microbiome health, autoimmune disease, and metabolic/nutritional support in cancer care.

Formally trained in medicine and public health (MD, MPH), Dr. Crispino is an IFM-trained practitioner (IFMCP) with additional emphasis on low-carb and ketogenic nutrition for metabolic recovery. She combines rigorous science with practical tools patients can sustain long-term.

Her approach is human-centered and root-cause oriented: she evaluates sleep–wake timing, light environment, nutrition, movement, toxins, and stress to identify the drivers of chronic disease, then co-creates a stepwise plan that fits each person’s context. Typical interventions include structured nutrition (often low-glycemic or ketogenic when appropriate), light hygiene and circadian routines, stress-management techniques, targeted supplementation, and strength and aerobic training—always integrated with patients’ existing medical care.

Beyond clinic work, Dr. Crispino writes and speaks about lifestyle medicine, sleep and circadian rhythms, and metabolic health, aiming to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance patients can use immediately. Her mission is simple: empower people with science-grounded education and compassionate, individualized care so they can reclaim energy, resilience, and long-term well-being.

Dr Carolina Crispino will be speaking in the Integrative Oncology Conference taking place on Friday 19th June 2026. The full conference programmes will be announced in February 2026.
