Dr Amy McKenzie
Dr. Amy McKenzie is the Director of Medical Affairs at Lingo, specializing in cardiometabolic health. Her mission is to help individuals be people — not patients — by enhancing healthspan and transforming care systems from reactive sick care to proactive and continuous health care. She earned her PhD from the University of Connecticut, focusing on the intersection of nutrition, metabolism, and health. Prior to joining Abbott, she developed the continuous remote care model at Virta Health, a US-based telemedicine clinic focused on using nutrition to enable drug-free diabetes remission, reversion of prediabetes to normoglycemia, and to sustain meaningful weight loss. Early in her career, she received young investigator awards from the National Lipid Association and American Diabetes Association. Her research has informed public health awareness campaigns and standards of care in medical practice, and she has translated the science of nutrition, metabolism, and health behaviors into digital health products in the US and Europe.
