
Alex Jacobs
Alex Jacobs is the CEO of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the leading regulating body for acupuncture in the UK. He is also the past president and CEO of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM). He is a prominent expert on the regulation of acupuncture and herbal medicine in the UK. He is also a Chinese medicine practitioner, currently working in London practising acupuncture, herbal medicine, tuina massage. He also teaches Chinese medicine self-help, dietary therapy, qigong and tai chi.
After completing a master's degree in Economics, Alex moved to Taiwan to teach English and study Chinese. After attaining fluency in both modern and ancient Chinese, he returned to the UK to study Chinese medicine achieving a bachelor's degree in acupuncture from the University of Southampton and a master's degree in Chinese herbal medicine from the University of Westminster. His master's research was published in the Journal of Chinese Medicine.
In addition to his organisation and clinical work, he has also had a number of teaching positions in acupuncture and dietary therapy at British Acupuncture Accreditation Board accredited colleges across the UK.
