This presentation explores findings from a feasibility and acceptability study of an addiction-informed intervention for ultra-processed food addiction (UPFA), with particular focus on secondary analysis of changes in Binge Eating Scale (BES) symptoms. Reductions in binge eating occurred alongside structured addiction-informed education, peer support, and dietary change, challenging assumptions that food-focused interventions exacerbate disordered eating. Implications for Type 2 diabetes care in individuals with co-occurring UPFA are discussed, with signposting to a published perspective calling for integrated, ultra-processed food addiction-aware Type 2 diabetes pathways.
