PCOS and Mental Health: An Integrative Approach

08 Jun 2024

Womens Health

Women suffering with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have very high rates of mood disorders, particularly depression and anxiety. There are a variety of reasons for this substantial mental health burden, including hormonal imbalances, gut dysbiosis, circadian rhythm dysregulation, neuroinflammation, autonomic nervous system irregularities, acne, hirsutism, androgenic alopecia, obesity, and low self-esteem.

This presentation will provide an overview of the etiologies of mental health challenges in PCOS and present an efficacious integrative nutritional approach to address this serious issue.
