Danish clinical studies reveal positive effects of fermented red clover extract (RCE), rich in isoflavones and probiotics, on menopausal and osteopenic women. Bioavailable isoflavones significantly reduce menopausal hot flashes and mitigate bone mineral density (BMD) loss in postmenopausal osteopenic women. A 12-month double-blind trial with 78 participants shows that twice-daily RCE intake effectively inhibits BMD loss, improves bone turnover, enhances estrogen metabolite profile, and boosts equol production when combined with calcium, magnesium, and calcitriol supplementation, outperforming supplementation alone.
