Over-activation of mTOR is linked to Deregulated nutrient-sensing -one of 12 interconnected ‘Hallmarks of Aging’, described by López-Otín et al. This workshop will explore genetic and epigenetic factors that have been shown to alter the activities of three key nutrient sensors—AMPK, SIRT1 and mTOR - and the risk of age-related diseases - type 2 diabetes, CVD, Alzheimer’s disease, and cancer.
